Operation Wedding Dress- trial 3

Tried on The Dress today. With only seven weeks to go, this morning was the time to do it for real. Jiggly butt that jello is envious of for real. Ate a little too much over the weekend had a few beers and didn't go to the gym (but did do a yoga video because I'm not that lazy thank you very much) for real. You know what I'm saying. No 'cheating'. No stretchy nude jiggle/jello camo. It was time to know where I stood, sans spanx, with The Dress.

Feeling inspired (and also excited that I wasn't going to battle with control garments this time), I pulled the dress out of the garment bag and gazed at it. Warning- dress moment- *Wow. I just love my dress. It makes me catch my breath every time I see it.....* Sorry, I digress. This is not the time for rainbows and sunshine and lollipops. This is the time for cold, hard (or.... errr.... not so hard) facts. I stepped into the dress. Hm. A bit surprisingly, there was a little less of a struggle to get it on than I had expected. No sweating and panting with exertion, or awkward contortions and breath holding. Not even one choice word! I looked a little less like an over stuffed sausage and more like someone who is on their way to FREAKING ROCKING THE $%*#!!! out of The Dress.

The number hasn't gone down, but things are definitely improving. Sure, maybe I won't quite be Granite by the wedding, but I'll be well on my way. And summer will be here again before we know it. Perhaps this will be the year that I rock a pair of shorts... or a short dress, or jeans and a tight white t-shirt, minus the cupcakes. There will always be something to work towards, and in a way I'm thankful that The Dress and I had a bit of a falling out. I know we'll be friends again soon. It's worth it knowing that HTB and I are starting our (soon to be married!) life together on the track towards better health and fitness. Plus, muscles are sexy!

Speaking of muscles, week number two of the hundred push up challenge started today. I am amazed at how much strength I've gained- and in only a week! If you want to tone your arms and gain strength I encourage you to do the push up challenge with us!! There's still enough time that you could be doing 100 push ups by the time our big day rolls (no- confidently struts!) around. My sets today were 4,6,4,4 and in the 5th set I almost managed to squeeze up 8, but instead collapsed onto trembling, spaghetti arms. Mmmm spaghetti...... I bet you a plate of spaghetti and a glass of red wine that by the end of the week I'll be able to do at least 9 push ups at the end of my sets.

Goal for the end of the week? 147 (I'll take a smaller number if it happens!!) and 9 push ups at the end of Fridays sets.
